Terry not happy with performance

13 April 2012

Chelsea defender John Terry starred for Chelsea in an entertaining 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

But the Blues youngster was not entirely happy with his own performance.

Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink capitalised on a Paul Scholes blunder to open the scoring, but Andy Cole pounced to secure a point for the champions-elect.

Terry, back in the side after flu, said: "The pitch was quite heavy and bobbly, which stopped both teams playing as well as they can. "

Chelsea spurned a glorious chance at the start of the second half to go 2-0 up when Jesper Gronkjaer set up Hasselbaink, only for Mickael Silvestre to hassle the Dutch striker as he was about to score.

Terry added: "It was a good run by Jesper down the right and although Jimmy could have shot first time I think van der Gouw might have got there so it was probably a good decision to have a touch and it was a great tackle by Silvestre.

"I was reasonably pleased with my performance, but there are a couple of things defensively I need to look at. For example when Ryan Giggs had the ball I was dropping off too deep and Marcel Desailly was telling me that."
