One of the mastermind’s behind Dustin Brown’s unpicking of Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon two years ago is in his corner once more and predicts the “master of chaos” can pull off a repeat on Centre Court.

Brown stunned Nadal at the same stage two years ago and Craig O’Shannessy, a strategy analyst for Wimbledon and the ATP Tour, was in Brown’s box at the time.

The Australian met Brown last night to discuss strategies against Murray and believes the German has at least a 50-50 chance of victory.

Ahead of the match, O’Shannessy said: “He’s the master of chaos. We don’t want Dustin doing crazy stuff out there but we want a little bit of craziness mixed with a high-percentage pattern.

“Dustin will bring a very aggressive game style that will have serve and volley, deep, hard returns and short drop-shot returns to confuse his opponent, take them out of their comfort zone and think, ‘Holy cow, am I at a tennis match or at the circus here?’ ”

Going into the match, world No 1 Murray is the clear favourite to win in front of his home crowd.

But O’Shannessy said: “I have no doubt in my mind that Dustin can win. For a lot of people on that day versus Nadal he was the outsider but I almost had him as the favourite.

“I felt very confident that he would do well in that match and have a great chance to win it. I feel the same with this.

“This is at least a 50-50. If he wins I will not be surprised. It’s going to be a great match. Centre Court will love it.”
