Laura Robson was returning to Centre Court for the first time today since she stood on the Olympic podium 10 months ago.

Showers started falling just before the British number one was due to start her match against Mariana Duque-Marino yesterday and the rain did not relent, causing play to be abandoned at around 7.15pm.

Robson Tweeted her disappointment about the weather, posting: "Let's hope the weather is a tad better tomorrow!"

The good news for the world number 38 is that she was handed the honour of opening play on Centre Court at 1pm today and she usually enjoys playing on the biggest stage possible.

The 19-year-old fed off the excitement of the large and noisy crowd on Court One on Tuesday when she defeated 10th seed Maria Kirilenko.

And this afternoon she will return to the scene of her silver-medal-winning exploits with Andy Murray at the Olympic Games.

Pat Cash praised Robson following her victory over Kirilenko, but the Australian thinks today's match against the world number 117 will be a totally different test.

Former Wimbledon champion Cash said: "Typically after a big win you have a letdown, but if she gets focused early and she realises it's not going to be easy she will be all right.

"It's all about being focused. She managed it really well when she had nothing to lose (against Kirilenko), but it's different. She has something to lose now but I think she is probably a different class to this girl."
