Michelle Larcher De Brito insists she has nothing to lose at Wimbledon after knocking out No3 seed Maria Sharapova.

The Portuguese 20-year-old was due to face Italy’s Karin Knapp in the third round today having narrowly lost their only previous meeting in US Open qualifying two years ago.

De Brito said: “I remember it was a really tough match with Knapp. It was quite a while ago now.Whatever happens from now here, I’m just going to be happy with the result, move forward and try and keep up with the good results and just try my best. Whatever happens, I cannot be disappointed.”
