Sven eyeing more talent

12 April 2012

Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is determined to add to his playing staff after securing the services of Bulgaria winger Martin Petrov.

The £4.7million buy from Atletico Madrid joins Rolando Bianchi, Gelson Fernandes and Geovanni in beating a path to Eastlands under the new regime.

Eriksson said: "The chairman (Thaksin Shinawatra) means serious business and wants to build a big team, one that is not fighting at the bottom."

He added: "Some new faces are still to come in. For every player in the world to play in the Premier League is exciting.

"It is the best league in the world. Also when the club has a project where they want to be better it is very interesting for a player.

"I am excited and like the idea of the club getting bigger and better.

"It is good for the fans as well but as the season is not far away we need things to happen fairly quickly."
