Sutton may return to Blackburn

14 April 2012

Graeme Souness is willing to take striker Chris Sutton back to Blackburn if the price is right.

Cash-strapped Celtic, whose striker Henrik Larsson could become a summer target for Newcastle, want more than £2million for 30-year- old Sutton but Souness does not want to bid above £1.5m.

Sutton is willing to move back to Lancashire where he made his name before an illfated £10m switch to Chelsea but would prefer to see out the season in Glasgow.

Souness may raise funds by the sale of Dwight Yorke or Andy Cole, who are interesting Wolves and Middlesbrough respectively.

Blackburn have offered £1m for Real Sociedad's Javier de Pedro.

Left winger De Pedro is a free agent in the summer but Souness is keen to find a replacement for David Thompson, who is out for the season.
