Strettle a big doubt for France

David Strettle has joined England's growing injury list just seven days before the Six Nations clash with France at Twickenham.

With full-back Olly Morgan out for the season, Strettle was almost certain to win his second cap against the French, on the wing, with Josh Lewsey moving into the No 15 jersey.

But a thigh injury he suffered in the first half meant Strettle lasted just 46 minutes of Harlequins' defeat at Leicester that sent the Tigers five points clear at the top.

With Strettle off, Quins succumbed to two second-half tries and the boot of Andy Goode to give Dean Richards an unhappy return to Welford Road on his first visit since he left the club three years ago.

A forgettable Premiership clash was turned in the Tigers' favour when Seru Rabeni and Dan Hipkiss went over in six pulsating minutes at the start of the second half.

Quins' hopes ended when Mike Brown was sin-binned for picking the ball up in an offside position, though they did salvage a late bonus point when Adrian Turner landed a penalty from 40 metres.
