Storms delay Agassi clash

13 April 2012

Storms forced play to be abandoned at the Ericsson Open in Florida today during the quarter-final clash between American Andre Agassi and Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia early in the first set.

The weather also delayed the semi-final between Jennifer Capriati of the US and Russian Elena Dementieva.

Earlier, Venus Williams beat defending champion Martina Hingis 6-3, 7-6 to reach the final for the third time in four years.

Australian Patrick Rafter defeated Roger Federer of Switzerland 6-3, 6-1 in their quarter-final before the storms.
