Three London-based companies said to have intelligence links have emerged as major players in the bitter row escalating between Sir Alex Ferguson and Irish mogul John Magnier.

The highly public legal battle between the Manchester United manager and the club's largest shareholder has taken a new twist amid allegations that there is a dirty tricks campaign to undermine Ferguson.
