Spurs: Sol is not Barca bound

Adrian Curtis13 April 2012

Tottenham today denied Sol Campbell has agreed to join Barcelona in a five-year deal.

Spurs vice-chairman David Buchler has refuted claims in Spain that the England defender had sealed a transfer.

Campbell can leave under the Bosman ruling this summer but Buchler told Standard Sport: "Sol is an honourable man and any reports of him having agreed to join Barcelona are merely rumours.

"He's been on holiday for the last couple of weeks and we agreed we would talk immediately he came back into the country.

"We still hope Sol will commit himself to Spurs."

Campbell's agent Sky Andrews also denied a move had been agreed.
