Spain have named Real Mallorca boss Luis Aragones as their new coach following the sacking of Inaki Saez last month.

Aragones, 66, has been appointed following Spain's poor performance at Euro 2004, where they were eliminated at the group stage. Spain captain Raul said: "It's always attractive to be appointed to this position and even more so for Luis Aragones, who will crown a life dedicated to soccer.

Aragones began his coaching career at Atletico Madrid in 1975 and has been in charge of seven more clubs, including FC Barcelona and Valencia.
