Souness blasts Cole

13 April 2012

Graeme Souness today branded Fulham's new signing Andy Cole "a baby" after his acrimonious departure from Blackburn.

The Rovers manager criticised Cole and Dwight Yorke - and said he now only wants to sign "men".

Souness has conceded that he made a mistake in reuniting the pair at Ewood Park after they had fallen out of favour at Manchester United.

Cole has moved to Fulham on a free transfer while Yorke is still at Ewood Park having failed to find a new club.

Souness said: "The Yorke-Cole thing disappoints me because I'm the man who went to my board and spent the supporters' hard-earned money.

"From now on I only want to work with men. I am not interested in having babies around."

Souness admitted that he and Cole have had disagreements and added: "It's no secret that Cole and I didn't see eye to eye and I think it was best for everyone that he went."

Meanwhile, Fulham's £1.5million bid for striker Tomasz Radzinski was today being considered by Everton.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said: "The end of July is always the time when decisions are made and it will be no different at Everton."
