So who thinks the Dowies can keep Palace up?

14 April 2012

You cannot just dismiss them. The signings they made early in the summer are quite good. Success would be fourth from bottom.

Former manager Alan Smith

Palace have a reasonable chance of staying up. The key thing is that they get a good start. They need a few points on the board in their first six games.

Former Palace manager, coach and player Steve Kember I reckon Palace will surprise a few people and are a good bet to stay up. They can hold their own at the top of the bottom half of the table. The defence is a bit stronger than people realise. Mark Goldberg, former Palace chairman

Their chances of survival depend on who is playing up front and how the partnership with Andy Johnson works. Iain Dowie is capable of getting a lot more out of his team than you would expect with the resources available.

Ex-Palace chairman and Selhurst Park freeholder Ron Noades

I'm a Charlton man but if they can stay up on a shoestring I don't see why Palace can't. The anticipation here is electric. Customers and staff are excited about the big clubs. They are used to Grimsby and Crewe and now it will be Manchester United and Arsenal. Luke King, deputy manager at Sainsbury's underneath the Whitehorse Lane Stand

I have no comment to make. I do not have any views on whether Palace will stay up or not. I have not followed them since we did our job there.

Simon Paterson, ex-administrator at Palace
