Seve left out in cold at Munich

Seve Ballesteros made an early exit from the BMW International Open in Munich today.

The five-times major winner slumped to a first-round 84 to lie last of the 156-strong field by five shots in his first event for four months.

He improved by 12 shots this morning with a 72, but at 12 over still missed the cut.

At the other end of the leaderboard, Sweden's Robert Karlsson had set the early clubhouse target of 15 under par. But play was suspended this afternoon when thunderstorms closed in on the course.
