Scott's got some front

14 April 2012

Adam Scott proved his credentials as a front-runner again by winning the Johnnie Walker Classic in Beijing.

Scott claimed his fifth European Tour title by leading from start to finish at Pine Valley after opening with a course record 63.

The 24-year-old Australian survived a few nervous moments but a closing 72 gave him an 18-under-par total to secure a three-shot victory over US Open champion Retief Goosen and the £208,000 first prize.

Colin Montgomerie was tied for sixth place with Ernie Els on 12 under par.

"I am sure one day I will lose one but at the moment I feel very comfortable and even though the lead got back to one, I was still in front," said Scott, who also showed the field a clean pair of heels when winning by six shots in Qatar and 10 in Gleneagles in 2002.
