Scotland coach Frank Hadden has retained the team which beat Italy as they prepare to face Argentina in the World Cup quarter-finals in Paris on Sunday.

The Italians were defeated 18-16 in their World Cup Pool C match in St Etienne last Saturday, with Chris Paterson kicking all of the Scots' points.

Hadden's men are hopeful of progressing to the semi-finals but face a tough challenge from a side ranked fourth in the world.

"As usual, there was a lot of discussion about individuals, partnerships, units and the team, but we are getting to the stage where we have a group of guys who have played five games together in seven weeks," he said.

"In terms of readiness, it made sense to go with a side that is prepared for this.

"We have made progress in those five games and we are expecting an even bigger performance this weekend.

"There are plenty of tools in the tool box. Now it is just a case of using the right tool, in the right place and at the right time in this important match."
