Savage joins Brighton in loan deal

13 April 2012

Robbie Savage has dropped down a division to join Brighton on a month's loan.

The 33-year-old former Wales midfielder has decided to link up with his former manager at Leicester, Micky Adams, after being out of favour at Derby where he was on £24,000 per week.

Adams said: "The important thing is he wants to come here and put himself back on the map.

"A lot of people at his level are happy to pick up their money and play in the reserves but Robbie isn't like that.

"He is a terrific character on and off the pitch and, having worked with him before, I know the sort of quality he'll add to the team."

Savage, who played for Derby and Blackburn in the Premier League last season, could make his debut against Cheltenham on Saturday.
