A posse of Celtic's international players had been pencilled in to join their national squads on May 19 - before the SPL extended the season.

But Samaras intends to make himself available for selection and insisted: "I'm not playing in Greece's game on the 19th.

"It is no problem for me to stay here for the final match. Greece have another game on May 24 against Hungary that I hope to be there for.

"I realise how important it is to everyone here to beat Rangers in the championship and it is a nice pressure to be so close to winning it.

"But we know it is not up to us. All we can do is win our last two games and wait for Rangers to make mistakes."
