Rusedski's no quitter

Greg Rusedski has dismissed suggestions he is thinking about retirement as he prepares for a first-round clash with Italy's Davide Sanguinetti at Wimbledon today.

The British No2, who is 31 in September, has been struggling with his form after returning from a doping scandal.

But Rusedski has been boosted by some better performances on grass at last week's warm-up event in Nottingham and has no plans to quit the game for several years yet.

He said: "This won't be my last Wimbledon, there will be many more. The drugs issue is in the past now. "It's all about building confidence and that takes time.

"I feel relaxed and very good about my tennis. I'm looking forward to it.

"It is going to be great with the crowd getting behind me from the first ball to the last ball."

Last year at Wimbledon, Rusedski lost in the second round to Andy Roddick after unleashing a foul-mouthed tirade at the umpire over a disputed point.
