Wasps look at bringing Danny Cipriani back

Danny Cipriani could make a sensational return to Adams Park as Wasps consider a move for the Sale playmaker.

Standard Sport understands Wasps are looking into the possibility of signing the 26-year-old, who came through their Academy and made
63 first-team appearances before signing for Melbourne Rebels
in 2011.

Cipriani kicked 11 points in Sale’s 21-17 victory over Wasps on Saturday and is under contract until the end of next season.

Director of rugby Dai Young has already signed two Sale players for next season in full‑back Rob Miller and forward James Gaskell.

A return to London could appeal to Cipriani, who makes regular visits to the capital to spend time with friends and family.

No official approach has been made but Wasps are in the market for a No 10 to provide competition for 33-year-old Andy Goode.

The club have already failed in a move for Welshman Rhys Priestland and Standard Sport understands an approach was also made for Leicester-bound Freddie Burns.
