All Blacks Sevens Coach Gordon Tietjens has hailed the impact of inner-city community projects, after his players oversaw a 'gratifying' training session with Lambeth youths this week.

Ahead of the HSBC Sevens World Series’ London leg this weekend, reigning champions New Zealand went to The Black Prince Community Hub in Kennington to deliver an exclusive training session to 11 -12 year-olds.

The lucky participants were treated to a range of rugby drills to celebrate AIG’s continued partnership with Community Action Zone (CAZ), and the event closed with an autograph session with the All Blacks, who can defend their title for the third successive season at Twickenham this weekend.

Tietjens said: “It’s one thing coaching the All Blacks Sevens, the reward is watching them pick up points on the pitch – with AIG, coaching children in the community is instantly gratifying, the smiles and energy the kids brought to the session today was fantastic.”
