The toss of the coin proved crucial for Sir Joseph Williamson's before their second round tie at Rochester even though they trailed 17-0 at half time.

The visitors opted to play into a fierce wind and accepted the consequences before taking full advantage of the eleemnts after the break.

Scrum half Jack Frame opened their account with a converted try before leaving the field injured. But his absence failed to upset the visitors' rhythm and after left wing Steve Franks banged over a penalty they scored a converted try through No 8 Jason Boast.

Torrential rain then put the home side further on the slide and Sir Joseph's ran in further tries from right wing Dan Harrison and full back Simon Green.

Franks converted both. Sir Joseph's, who defeated Kent College 38-22 in the first round, now travel to face another county rival, Cranbrook, on Wednesday, November 1.
