Robson eases through

12 April 2012

British teenager Laura Robson eased into the third round of the Australian Open girls' singles with a 6-3 7-6 (7-0) win against Thailand's Kanyapat Narattana.

The fifth seed, who turned 15 this month, won the first set 6-3 but found herself 5-2 down in the second set.

However she fought back to 5-5 and took it into a tie-breaker, easing to a comfortable win with little resistance from Narattana.

Robson, the 2008 Wimbledon Junior Girls champion, had beaten American Christina McHale in the first round.
