Robben curses his awful luck

14 April 2012

Arjen Robben admitted today he is frustrated not to have been able to play for Chelsea this season.

The Dutch winger, signed from PSV Eindhoven last season, has been out of action since injuring his ankle in a pre-season game against Roma in the United States and last week he suffered a setback in training.

This latest knock is likely to further delay his comeback and Robben cannot believe his bad luck.

"At the moment I'm feeling fine, I'm improving again but the last couple of weeks have been a bit difficult," he said.

"It was a stupid challenge in America and I had to recover for a long period. Then, when I came back last week, I trained with the group again and got a kick on it. So I'm a little bit unlucky since I've been here but I hope the luck will come soon to me.

"I hope to be back very soon because I want to play very much."

Robben believes his best position is on the left wing - and that could mean a battle with Damien Duff for a place in the side.

"We are only playing with one winger and Damien is playing there now," he added.

"I think when I was playing at PSV we played with two wingers. It's a little bit different at Chelsea but I think I can play on the left wing as well."
