Radzinski hands in transfer request

13 April 2012

Everton striker Tomasz Radzinski has handed in a transfer request.

The Canada international has a year remaining on his contract and he insists he wanted more than the one-year extension to that deal on offer from the Toffees.

"The contract offered by Everton was only for a one-year extension, which would have left me standing in the same spot next season," he told the club's official website www.evertonfc.com.

Everton's head of public relations Ian Ross added: "I can confirm that this morning we have received a written transfer request from Tomasz Radzinski.

[Everton manager] David Moyes will consider the matter later this week."

Radzinski joined the Merseyside club from Belgian side Anderlecht three years ago in a £4.5million deal.

His transfer request is likely to alert a number of Premiership suitors, including Fulham, Blackburn and Portsmouth.
