Queiroz hints at new arrival

14 April 2012

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has hinted the club could make a new signing within the next seven days.

So far this summer, only £18.6million former Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick has arrived at Old Trafford, while striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is a notable departure. However, Sir Alex Ferguson's number two has indicated further reinforcements could follow.

"We are working on something," Queiroz told Sky Sports News.

However, he insisted the Red Devils would not be forced into a panic signing, and would instead bide their time over any move.

"We'll see, maybe next week. We don't rush with our decisions," he said.

"We will wait a few days to give us time to make a decision."
