Punishment for Warne

14 April 2012

Shane Warne ended up on the losing side as he completed his comeback from a 12-month drugs ban in Melbourne today.

The Australian leg-spinner finished with match figures of five for 152 for Victoria 2nd XI but could not prevent the Queensland Academy winning by three wickets.

He struggled to contain the scoring rate and was punished in a spell of three for 120 from 19.5 overs in Queensland's second innings of 306 for seven.

Nathan Hauritz hit Warne for a six and a single from the fourth and fifth balls of the final over to clinch victory.
