Pulis pleased with progress

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to utilise his squad again for their FA Cup fourth round tie against Wolves later this month.

Pulis made 10 changes for the third round replay at Cardiff, which Stoke won 2-0 after two goals in extra time from Jon Walters, and the Potters manager is likely to adopt a similar approach for the Molineux tie against Mick McCarthy's men

Pulis said: "I will use the squad again at Wolves, very much so. It was a tough game, both sides made loads of changes, and we are pleased to have come out with a win."

He added: "I don't have to justify (selection) to anyone apart from my chairman.

"We've got a 25-man squad and we pay players good money whether they are in the team or out of the team.

"We wanted them to have a go and they did. That is all you can ask for."

Chances were at a premium during an often dour 90 minutes, but at least Walters spared the crowd of just over 13,000 a penalty shoot-out.

He put Stoke ahead with a close-range header just 100 seconds into extra time and then sealed the win with an angled shot six minutes from the end.

A young Cardiff side had their moments, but ultimately lacked firepower after manager Dave Jones started the game without prolific strikers Craig Bellamy, Jay Bothroyd and Michael Chopra.

Chopra came on as a second-half substitute, but Stoke comfortably coped with his threats.
