Proteas on top

12 April 2012

Seamer Darren Pattinson dismissed Ashwell Prince at Headingley this morning - but not before the South African centurion and AB de Villiers had pushed their fifth-wicket stand into record territory.

England's frustrations continued on the third morning of the second Test as Prince (149) and de Villiers (88 not out) took their partnership to 212, with the Proteas progressing to 355 for five - a first-innings lead of 152.

Prince, who needed 13 deliveries to add to his overnight 134, edged a Pattinson delivery and wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose claimed the catch.
