NBA season preview: Can LeBron James win the title? Reggie Miller and Brent Barry on 10 things to watch

The NBA returns to action in the early hours of Wednesday morning for what should be another unforgettable season.

Golden State Warriors enter the campaign as the reigning champions, having produced some of the best basketball America has seen in recent years on their way to just a second championship. They have the reigning regular season MVP, Steph Curry, in a lineup filled with stars, yet they will be hard pushed to retain their crown.

San Antonio Spurs acquired the league’s best free agent, LaMarcus Aldridge, whilst major players such as the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder are set to improve significantly with new depth added to their side.

Hanging over the league remains, as ever, one man: LeBron James. He may have missed out on a championship but the best player in the world was on electric form in his first year back at the Cavaliers, single-handedly keeping his side in the Finals after losing star team-mates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Both should be back soon into the regular season, but can James grab a first championship since 2013?

TNT and NBA TV analysts Reggie Miller and Brent Barry, both legends of the game in their own right, have their say on LeBron’s hopes and several other major storylines in our gallery above.
