Lance Armstrong says he will testify with “100 per cent transparency and honesty” into any inquiry about his drugs past.

The American was banned for life and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after the United States Anti-Doping agency uncovered the widespread doping by the Texan and his former US Postal team.

“Do I think that this process has been good for cycling?” Armstrong told the BBC. “No, I don’t think our sport has been served well by going back 15 years. I don’t think that any sport or any political scenario is well served going back 15 years.”

The 42-year-old said he had no regrets about his initial interview with Oprah Winfrey in which he admitted to doping saying he would have to answer the questions anyway.

He added: “I have experienced massive personal loss of wealth while others have truly capitalised on this story.”
