British promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed his desire to move into MMA promotion and wants American YouTuber Logan Paul to be the headline act.

Paul has had two boxing bouts to date, a draw and a loss to British YouTuber KSI, and has been linked with a potential fight against American football player Antonio Brown.

Hearn – who promoted Paul’s second bout with KSI, broadcaster on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK – believes the 25-year-old’s future lies in MMA with Paul boasting a strong background in wrestling.

“We know you have a wrestling background and I would actually like to move into MMA myself," Hearn said to Paul on Instagram Live.

“Definitely not doing it but promoting it. So, lets launch Matchroom USA and MMA, Logan Paul in MMA.

“Is there an MMA fight in you? Do you think you’d probably be underrated in that discipline?”

Paul – acknowledging wresting as his strength – revealed MMA is very much a part of his immediate plans.

"That's my secret, bro,” he said. “I need to do one MMA fight before I die, and I would love to do it with Matchroom Boxing or Matchroom MMA."

Subsequently to the call, Hearn said: "I really like Logan Paul, I really do. And I think I'm going to give him an MMA fight to be honest with you."

Regardless of what the so-called “boxing purists’ make of such events, YouTube boxing clearly has a vast audience.

It seems Paul will be returning to fighting sooner rather than later, although switching the ring for the octagon.
