Anthony Joshua is looking forward to some lengthy time off this summer after the Watford-born boxer successfully defended his IBF heavyweight title with a win over American fighter Dominic Breazeale on Saturday.

Joshua, 26, knocked Breazeale out in the seventh round of their fight at the O2 in London, ending the American's unbeaten record while improving Joshua's record to 17 wins - all from knockouts - and no losses.

Joshua only won the IBF title in April when he knocked out another American, Charles Martin, in two rounds and, after coming out on top in his first defence, the 26-year-old admitted he is looking forward to taking some time out to "recharge his batteries".

"I'm tired and I'm working hard," Joshua told Sky Sports following the victory. "Now I can recharge my batteries and start afresh again.

"It was a matter of timing and a process. I only had two weeks off after my last fight (against Martin in April) and now I want to have a nice bit of time off."

Joshua is expected to face mandatory challenger Joseph Parker of New Zealand in his next fight, but he admitted he still wants to take on fellow Brit Tyson Fury, who was this week forced to postpone his re-match with Wladimir Klitschko following an ankle injury.

"I was looking at Tyson Fury and I hope he gets better soon because I was hoping to get that in the winter," Joshua said. "In the meantime, we'll look at other opponents like Joseph Parker."
