Olsen apologises for Danes' pain

14 April 2012

Denmark coach Morten Olsen felt sorry for the fans in Copenhagen who had paid to watch their team lose 2-1 to Croatia in their last warm-up game.

"I want to apologise to the crowd for our first-half performance," Olsen said. "It was below the standard we expect from ourselves and it was a disgrace for the spectators.

"We managed to come back in the second half. But in the first, we were too far from our opponents. We lost way too many easy balls, and made it extremely hard on ourselves by always making things complicated."

Goals from Tomislav Sokota and Ivica Olic put Croatia ahead before Ebbe Sand pulled one back.
