Double-gold medallist Mo Farah today declared: "I want to go all the way for the London Games."

The long-distance runner, who fled Somalia for London when he was 10, said his dream was to win gold for Britain.

The 27-year-old, who last week won the European Championship 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres titles, said his victories will help push him to succeed at the 2012 Olympics.

He told the Standard: "I am absolutely chuffed, so happy with my achievements. Now my focus is on London. I have a lot to do before then, but I will keep training hard and do my best in every competition, until the big one in 2012."

Born in Somalia and raised in the capital Mogadishu, Farah was brought to Britain by his father in 1993 as his country sank into civil war.

Returning from Barcelona last night, he celebrated with his family and friends, including his wife Tania and five-year-old daughter Rihanna, by ordering in pizzas.

"I have such a strict schedule so last night I let loose and ordered pizzas with all my family and friends around me at home," he said. "It was great to just relax, but now it's back to my strict diet."

Mo Farah runs at the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on August 13. Tickets from uka.org.uk or watch live on BBC2 (6pm, Friday) and BBC1 (1pm, Saturday).
