New B&H deal boosts Jordan

13 April 2012

Cash-strapped Formula One team Jordan have received a financial boost today with news that Benson & Hedges will continue their sponsorship.

Jordan are the only team still to confirm their driver line-up for next season but today's announcement that B&H parent company, Gallaher Group, will extend their sponsorship for a ninth year helps ease their problems.

Owner Eddie Jordan said: "Benson & Hedges have shown remarkable loyalty. I'm proud we'll be racing in their yellow colours again and we're looking forward to the season with excitement."

The news also gives hope to Ralph Firman, who is battling to be named as Nick Heidfeld's team-mate next season.

He was signed by Jordan last season as part of the B&H deal, which includes extra money if the team employs a British driver.
