Netherton commits to Robins

Hull KR forward Jason Netherton has signed a new two-year contract at Craven Park.

The Hull-born 28-year-old, a member of the side which won promotion to Super League in 2006, is now committed until the end of 2013.

Netherton has made 147 appearances for the Robins since signing in 2004.

Netherton said: "It's taken a few months to sort out but I'm over the moon it has all been done and that I'll be here for another two years.

"I think the club's going forward and I'm looking forward to being part of it.

"We've been making some steady progress over the years and now we're looking to kick on and the next logical step for us is to win some play-off games and win some trophies."

Rovers are 10th in the Engage Super League, three points off the play-off positions, heading into Sunday's derby with arch-rivals Hull.

Coach Justin Morgan said: "Jason has been part of the club right the way through our progress in Super League and has played an important part in helping us get to where we are today.

"We want him to help us continue that progress and make the next step, which is to be competing in and winning play-off games and finals."

Rovers are hoping second row Clint Newton can return after three months on the sidelines with knee and calf injuries, but centre Jake Webster and prop Joel Clinton are both out with shoulder injuries.
