Neil Warnock set to swoop for Lee Croft

Andrew Fifield13 April 2012

Crystal Palace are hoping to capitalise on the turmoil at Norwich by swooping for unsettled midfielder Lee Croft.

The winger is out of contract at the end of June and is not expected to be offered a new deal, as the Canaries seek to cut costs following relegation to League One.

Croft, 24, made 41 League appearances for Norwich this season, scoring five goals, and he has been identified by Palace's scouts as a possible replacement for John Oster and Paul Ifill, both of whom were released at the end of the season after suffering injury-plagued campaigns.

Any talks over a possible move are unlikely to begin until manager Neil Warnock leaves hospital following a hip operation next week.
