'Mongrel' Muscat in Oz link

Australian side Melbourne Victory want to sign Millwall defender Kevin Muscat.

They hope to lure the 31-year-old international back Down Under next August. Muscat has two years left on his contract at The Den but has indicated he wants to finish his career in Australia.

Gary Cole, Victory's head of football operations, said: "We will make contact.

"He's got a nice bit of mongrel in him which would ensure those around him don't accept defeat too easily."

Muscat should play at Burnley for Millwall tomorrow but playermanager Dennis Wise could have trouble keeping everyone happy.

He used Paul Ifill and Danny Dichio as substitutes for Sunday's 1-0 win against West Ham and has Neil Harris, Jody Morris and Peter Sweeney all back fit. Adrian Serioux also returns after suspension.
