Melville handed under-21 role

Wasps director of rugby Nigel Melville has been appointed part-time coach of the England Under 21 team.

Melville worked with the squad last season and Chris Spice, performance director for the Rugby Football Union, said: 'I'm delighted that Nigel has accepted the position. His previous experience of coaching the Under 21s will be invaluable and I know he is looking forward to a good campaign in the spring.'

Powergen were last night unveiled as the new sponsor of the national knock-out cup, starting at the sixth round stage on Saturday week.
