Nigel Melville heaped praise on the youngsters he hopes will keep Gloucester firing during next month's World Cup.

The director of rugby saw his side romp to a comfortable win, with 22-year-old full back Jon Goodridge scoring two tries.

Melville said: 'I have been waiting to play him in his preferred choice of position to see what he can do and he has done a great job.

'He has come through a hard year with injuries and family bereavement and this will be a springboard to better things.

'We have a lot of young lads who are going to be playing during the World Cup and they are getting better each week, which is hugely encouraging.'

James Simpson-Daniel and replacement James Forrester grabbed the other tries.
