Brum deals: Alex McLeish

Alex McLeish says his relegated Birmingham are not good enough to be sure of bouncing straight back to the Barclays Premier League.

Angry Blues fans turned on the club's board when their side went down on the final day of the season and will not be thrilled to hear McLeish's assessment of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Scot wants to add new players to feel confident of competing.

"The Championship is very competitive," McLeish told the Daily Mirror. "When you look at some of the names in there, it's quite frightening so there are no guarantees for us.

"We will be a big scalp for a lot of other clubs. I would like to add two or three more players to give me peace of mind."
