McLeish determined to get his man with a new approach for Pompey's Davis

Manager Alex McLeish is ready to resurrect his bid to take Sean Davis to Birmingham.

McLeish missed out on the Portsmouth midfielder in January but will table a bid of around £1million after raking in £5m by selling Fabrice Muamba to Bolton.

Davis, 28, could not command a regular place for the FA Cup winners last season and has been told he can leave Fratton Park.

“He’s played in the Premier League and will be a tremendous asset to us over the coming seasons.”
