McGhee searching for new recruits

13 April 2012

Millwall manager Mark McGhee will today step up attempts to strengthen his squad following last night's 1-0 defeat at Crewe, their third successive First Division defeat this season.

They lost to Burnley at The Den on Saturday and McGhee said: "The difference between winning and losing in both those games was probably a couple of players."

"We require a bit more strength in depth. We have players in mind and I would like to bring in new faces before our next game against Crystal Palace."

Rob Hulse's 86th minute goal secured Crewe's first League victory of the season but Millwall, who have now failed to win at Crewe in eight visits, appeared capable of claiming at least a point when goalkeeper Tony Warner saved a Shaun Smith penalty, awarded for a Sean Dyche challenge on Hulse.

McGhee added: "We know we are not good enough yet but I am far from disappointed."
