Martin & Co taste defeat

13 April 2012

Rhona Martin and her Olympic gold medal team lost their final round robin tie at the National Championships in Glasgow today, going down 6-3 to Edith Loudon's squad from Perth.

The defeat ended a nine-match run of success for Martin's quartet which started with their tie-break victory over Sweden in the Olympic semi-final in Salt Lake City.

Meanwhile, the fate of slalom bronze medallist Alain Baxter looks set to drag on after Olympic officials admitted today they have yet to set a date for the Scottish skier's meeting with the organisation's medical panel to discuss his failed drugs test.
