Eli Manning starred as the New York Giants kept alive their fragile play-off hopes with a 45-12 rout of the Washington Redskins.

The quarter-back completed 19 of 26 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. He said: "It was vital to get off fast and set the tempo."

The Giants (8-6) are vying with the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers (who are both 9-5) for two wildcard slots with two games to go.
