Lucky Kiwis secure a draw

14 April 2012

New Zealand endured a few scary moments before the First Test against Pakistan ended in a draw in Hamilton.

Having posted a commanding 563 in their first innings, the Kiwis crashed to 96 for eight on the final day, with play ending just after tea due to bad light and rain. Stephen Fleming, hero of the first innings with 192, was out for nought second time around.

Mohammad Sami did most of the damage for Pakistan, taking five for 44 in 16 overs.

Jacob Oram finished unbeaten on 23 but Pakistan have the psychological edge going into the Second Test starting in Wellington on Christmas Day.
