Ling extends Parkin loan deal in bid to add firepower

Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling extended Sam Parkin's loan deal in an attempt to add firepower after the 3-0 defeat at Leicester.

Ling said: "You can't say we're missing a massive amount of chances because we're not creating them, so it's a problem.

"We've extended Sam's loan for another 13 days to take him up to the maximum 93-day period.

"Whoever we brought in wouldn't have been able to play in the FA Cup on Tuesday, so keeping Sam gives us more options."

Brentford want to offer Dean Bowditch a permanent deal after he scored in a 2-2 draw at Lincoln. Marcus Bean also was also on target but manager Andy Scott said: "I'd love to keep Dean, all his performances have been in his favour. But it is not purely down to me as obviously Dean and Ipswich have a major say in it. And there are financial implications."

Barnet manager Ian Hendon is trying to remain optimistic despite a 1-0 defeat at Bury.

He said: "If the lads perform like that every week then things will turn round."
