Lewis-Roberts injury blow for Sale

Eifion Lewis-Roberts

Sale Sharks prop Eifion Lewis-Roberts could miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury.

Lewis-Roberts suffered the ACL injury during Friday's Aviva Premiership victory over Harlequins and he will need to undergo surgery to reconstruct his knee.

The injury also means the Wales international, who has one cap to his name, will miss his country's autumn international and Six Nations campaigns.

Sale head coach Mike Brewer said: "It's not looking good for Eifion. He's done his ACL. We need to get the swelling down over the next week or so and he will then need knee reconstruction surgery."
