Lewington backs idea of a sin-bin

Ray Lewington today added his name to the list of managers who want a rugby style sin-bin in football.

Lewington's Watford, who face top team Wigan tomorrow, had Paul Devlin dismissed for two bookable offences after 45 minutes of their 3-2 defeat at Derby on Tuesday and Lewington said today: "The second yellow was a slightly mistimed tackle, no more than that.

"The match was devalued as a spectacle and a sin bin would help in that respect. The player would then be able to come back on."
